1. Who we are
Audvoyz (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates audvoyz.com and its associated services — a document-to-audiobook platform that converts uploaded documents into narrated MP3s, produces summaries and translations, answers grounded questions about your files, mixes optional AI-generated background music, auto-cuts a 60-second social-media audio clip from your finished audiobook, turns that clip or the entire audiobook into an MP4 slideshow video from photos you upload, lets you edit and re-narrate the text of your books, and exports publisher-ready delivery bundles.
2. Information we collect
- Account info — when you sign up with email or Google, we store your email address, display name, and (for Google sign-in) your profile picture.
- Documents you upload — PDF, DOCX, EPUB, TXT, or Markdown files you submit for narration, summarisation, translation, or Q&A. Stored encrypted at rest.
- Source text preserved for editing — for every audiobook you create, we save a copy of the extracted (and, for translations, translated) narration text so you can open the book later, edit the text, and re-narrate. This copy is stored only against your own account, is never shared with other users, and is deleted when you delete the audiobook or close your account.
- Content we generate for you — audiobooks (MP3), summaries, translations, answer transcripts, AI-generated background music beds (when you enable them), library categorisation/tags/notes you add, and publisher-ready delivery bundles you export. Retained in your library until you delete them or close your account. Audio files are stored securely in our object store; metadata is stored in our database.
- Voice samples (optional, Studio tier) — if you upload a recording of your own voice to create a custom narrator, we treat that audio as biometric information. We store your consent, the sample size, and the resulting voice model identifier from our voice provider. You can delete the voice model at any time from Studio, which triggers deletion at our voice provider as well. We never use your voice model for anyone else's account, and it is never used to train any third-party model.
- Voice + music previews — when you press the “Preview voice” button in Studio to hear a ~15-second sample of your chosen narrator (and optional music mood) before committing your monthly words, we render the preview once and cache the audio server-side keyed to your voice/mood choice. The cache prevents repeat clicks from consuming provider credits. Cached previews are retained for up to 90 days and are never shared with other users.
- AI-generated cover art — when your audiobook completes, we may auto-generate a cover image from the document title and first paragraph. The generated image is stored with your audiobook record. No text or PII from your document appears in the generated image.
- AI-generated background music — if you enable the “Add background music” option (Creator/Studio tier), we synthesise an original ambient music bed via a licensed music-generation provider and mix it under your narration. The music is generated from your mood prompt (or a default cinematic prompt) — it contains no third-party samples and no pre-existing recordings. The generated music is delivered only as part of your MP3.
- 60-second social clip — when you tap “Generate 60-sec clip”, our language model reads your book's narration text, selects a ~60-second hook, and Audvoyz renders it as a standalone MP3 in your chosen voice. The clip is stored in your library alongside the parent book and is deleted when you delete the parent book.
- Photos you upload for video generation — for Reel (up to 8 photos) or full-book (up to 30 photos) MP4 builds, each photo is uploaded to our object store one-at-a-time (≤ 5 MB per photo), used as an input frame in a server-side ffmpeg composition, and automatically deleted after the MP4 is delivered. We do not train any model on your photos, do not share them with any third party, and do not retain them beyond the build. The resulting MP4 is stored with your audiobook until you delete it.
- Public samples — the “Hear a sample” button on our landing page plays a pre-generated narration of a short public-domain passage. No listener data is collected beyond standard access logs.
- Payment info — processed entirely by our PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your card details. We keep a transaction record (amount, plan, timestamp, currency, product identifier) for accounting, receipt, and refund purposes.
- Usage data — page views, feature usage, word counts, per-hour preview counts (to enforce a fair-use rate limit), and error logs, used to operate and improve Audvoyz.
3. How we use it
- Provide the service: narrate your documents, generate summaries and translations, mix optional background music, produce publisher-ready delivery bundles, and answer questions grounded in your uploads.
- Bill you for the plan you selected and enforce monthly word quotas and preview rate limits.
- Send transactional emails (receipts, welcome, plan changes, security alerts). No marketing emails without opt-in.
- Monitor abuse, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
- Improve reliability and diagnose bugs.
4. Sub-processors we work with
To generate summaries, answers, translations, narration, background music, and cover art, Audvoyz processes your document text and voice/music prompts through secure language, voice, music-generation, and infrastructure providers under strict data-processing agreements. Prompts are transient — your content is not used to train any provider's models. Providers may retain requests briefly for abuse monitoring per their own policies. A current list of sub-processors is available on request at info@audvoyz.com.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share only with the sub-processors we need to run the service: our authentication provider, our payment processor, our language, voice, and music-generation providers, and our hosting provider. A current sub-processor list is available on request.
6. Data retention
Uploaded documents are retained only for the duration required to complete your request; the extracted text is not stored permanently once your audiobook, summary, translation, or answer is generated. The generated outputs (MP3s, summaries, translations, chat transcripts, background-music mixes, 60-sec social clips, photo-to-video MP4s, cover art, publisher-ready bundles) remain in your library until you delete them or close your account. Photos you upload for video generation are automatically deleted from our object store as soon as the MP4 is delivered — we do not retain them. Voice + music preview audio is cached for up to 90 days to avoid re-billing provider credits, then automatically purged. Transaction records are kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years).
7. International transfers
Our providers (auth, payments, language, voice, music generation, hosting, object storage) may process data in the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions. Transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required by GDPR / UK-GDPR. A current list of sub-processors and their regions is available on request.
8. Your rights
You may export or delete your data at any time. Email info@audvoyz.com and we will action the request within 30 days. GDPR, UK-GDPR, and CCPA rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction of processing, objection, and — where applicable — opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information) are honoured. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
9. Children
Audvoyz is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact info@audvoyz.com and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest for stored files and database records, principle-of-least-privilege access controls, and continuous monitoring of our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure — in the unlikely event of a personal-data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within the timelines required by law.
11. Cookies
We use essential session cookies (session_token and its refresh companion) to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking. See our cookie banner for the full list.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
